Morning circle time – we had our special helper of the day adding the date to our calendar, we sang our morning songs, then added one more popcorn to our 100th Day of school counting. Today we also shared something we did over the weekend.
Snack – JKs were encouraged to eat a healthy snack.
French class – please visit Mme. Jessica’s blog http://mllehousja.blogspot.com/

Language – we reviewed our phonics song for all letters learned
so far. Here is the link for our weekly Jolly Phonics songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K2rxtgQpd0
Then we used play dough to form
the letter of the week, which is Q. Then JKs had some time to use play dough
cutters in order to develop their fine motor skills.
Math/UOI
– today we made a flower pattern. We talked about places in nature we find
patterns, such as leaves, tree trunk, trees, flowers, acorns, etc…
Then we created our flower using
colorful strips of paper and bingo dauber.
Math – we reviewed the 2D shapes and
then completed an activity where JKs had to count the sides of each shape, cut
and paste them in the correct category.

Centers – today
JKs had the opportunity to have play dough during our purposeful play time. The benefits of play dough play are
numerous and children of all ages have much to gain from engaging with play
dough activities. Here are some of the benefits: fine motor
skill development, creativity and imagination, hand-eye co-ordination, social
skills, literacy and numeracy development.
Have a great evening!
