Happy Tuesday!

Language – learning goal thrughout the week: review/learn short vowel sounds.
Mrs. Bancud's video: Short vowel e

           https://youtu.be/HAcrNY4ckWU
Activity: students will learn the song for short e vowel and complete pages 1 and 2 from the print outs.
Extra: if magnetic letters are available at home, use them to create the words after or before completing the worksheets. You may also use play dough.

Examples:

Math – learning goal: compare and order the size of objects.

Mrs. Padovan's video:  3 Little Bears Puppets
Activity: pages 1-3 from Math Makes Sense print outs. Review the story “Goldilocks and The Three Little Bears.” Then students will colour and cut the puppets. If you have popsicle sticks, you may use to make a puppet by sticking the popsicle stick on the back of each bear. Please save the puppets for tomorrow’s math activity.

As we review the story, ask questions to focus your child on the illustrations and the different sizes of the bears’ bowls, chairs, and beds. Encourage them to talk about what they see. Brainstorm words to describe the size of objects (e.g., big/small/smaller).

UOI – learning goal: learn about different types of boats and their purpose.
Mrs. Padovan's video: Click here to draw your boat!
Activity: students will watch the videos and use their creativity and draw a boat. They will draw people who they would like to take on a boat ride.

Music

Welcome to music class with Mrs. McMillan!  I hope you had a wonderful March break!  Later in the week I will be posting a video of me singing and clapping rhythms so that you can sing along with me at home.  It will be fun! Today for music class I would love for you to make your own musical instrument to have at home for music class to play while you sing.  Here are some examples of instruments you can make.  A shaker out of a paper towel roll, a guitar out of a cereal box, or a drum using a tin can and spoon.  Be creative and have fun!  When you are finished making your musical instrument please sing a song of your choice such as "I am a Fine Musician".

Enjoy making musical instruments!  Feel free to send me a picture of you playing your instrument at amcmillan@stjudesacademy.com

Mrs. McMillan:)
