Gym class

PE with Ms. V!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Since we are all learning how to use SeeSaw today, I thought it would be a good idea to relax and take some time for ourselves today. We will be doing Yoga today to relax our bodies and minds, focus on our breathing and be mindful with ourselves. You may choose to do one of the following activities:

Yoga in the Hive

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=14&v=X655B4ISakg&feature=emb_logo

Cosmic Kids Yoga – Kickapoo the Kangaroo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=VmmbWcOtblU&feature=emb_logo

HOMEWORK: Think of an activity that you would like to master while learning from home. It must be something involving physical fitness. We will work on these goals throughout the next couple of weeks. I will be asking for responses throughout the week.

Examples:

  • Dribble a soccer ball
  • Jump rope
  • Do a cartwheel
  • Balance on one foot for 30 seconds

Have a great day!! J

Music

I loved seeing the pictures of the musical instruments that you made at home!  Today for music class we will begin by:

1. Clapping Food Rhythms.  For example, clap "ta, ta" and say "Ice cream" and clap,"ta, titi" and say "hamburger." The last row of rhythms clap "tika tika ti ti" and say "pepperoni pizza". Next class I will send you a video where you can watch me clap these rhythms and you can clap with me!

2. Practice singing along to your favourite "Frozen 2" songs or "Disney" songs, or a song of your choice with the new instrument that you made.  Have fun keeping in time to the music.

3. With chalk go outside and draw some of the following rhythms on the sidewalk or driveway.  Have fun! If you do not have chalk you can practice drawing your rhythms on paper with crayon or marker, or make your music notes with playdough.

Next music class you will be able to sing along to my you tube video for you to sing some of your favorite songs with me at home!

Welcome to music class with Mrs. McMillan!  I hope you had a wonderful March break!  Later in the week I will be posting a video of me singing and clapping rhythms so that you can sing along with me at home.  It will be fun! Today for music class I would love for you to make your own musical instrument to have at home for music class to play while you sing.  Here are some examples of instruments you can make.  A shaker out of a paper towel roll, a guitar out of a cereal box, or a drum using a tin can and spoon.  Be creative and have fun!  When you are finished making your musical instrument please sing a song of your choice such as "I am a Fine Musician".

Enjoy making musical instruments!  Feel free to send me a picture of you playing your instrument at amcmillan@stjudesacademy.com

Bonjour! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

To start off our first French online lesson, I would like to know what you did over the March break.

On a blank sheet of paper, students will DRAW a picture of ONE thing they did over the March break. Students need to include a title (“Mes semaines de relâche”) and their name on their work.

Parents, please assist your child by using the following as a guide for ideas to help them complete the activity (they do NOT need to write the sentences, just talk about what they did by using the guide below and draw a picture).

Qu’est-ce que tu as fait pendant les semaines de relâche?
What did you do over the March break?
