Just a regular day in the JK...

Happy Thursday!

Morning circle time – we had our special helper of the day adding the date to our calendar, we sang our morning songs, then added one more popcorn to our 100^th Day of school counting.

Snack – JKs were encouraged to eat a healthy snack.

Recess and Lunch

Language/Math – today we played a variety of activities related to harvest/Halloween. Students used plastic spiders to place value. Then we used mini erasers for sorting and counting. Next we used stickers to decorate our pictures.

Language/Science/Math – today we reviewed the letters and sounds learned so far and continued with our pumpkin activities. JKs were instructed to cut and paste the lifecycle of a pumpkin into correct order.

Recess and Lunch

Language/Science/Math – today we did our pumpkin investigation. JKs were invited to create a hypothesis for each section. Take a look at the pictures. This is a preparation for our Science Fair coming up in November. JKs are exposed to big words such as hypothesis, investigation! :) For projects such as the science fair students are encouraged to use their fives to explore! After the pumpkin investigation we looked into the life cycle of a pumpkin and drew pumpkins.
