Merry Christmas!

Dear Parents,
Thank you for all the gifts! I feel very blessed to have this group of parents!
Today we had a long morning assembly as we had different activities going on.
Then we return to our class and had French class, indoor recess and lunch.
After lunch, we distributed gifts and had free time to colour.
Next, we had indoor recess, snacks, gym class and centers.
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Enjoy time with family and friends!

Then we had the show and tell presentations.

Next, JKs completed an activity where they had to look at the Christmas tree alphabet and find the letters in their names. 

Math – today we practiced counting. JKs were instructed to count the Christmas pictures and colour the correct number.

Then we used bingo daubers to help us identifying all Os on our paper.

Next, JKs used play dough for form letter O.

Then we had the show and tell presentations. 

Christmas Activity – today we were introduced to our Elf On The Shelf. We found her on our popcorn count chart. Then we brainstorm some ideas for her name. We ended up with 2 names, then we made a graph and took the votes for each name. The name most voted was Chloe. 

Next, we worked on numeracy. JKs had 2 Christmas, each one with a number on it, they had to look at both numbers and colour the Christmas tree with the greater number. I was impressed how well they did with this activity.

Then we used a 10 frame to practice 1:1 correspondence. 

Next, we completed a simple graph.

Centers – today JKs had different types of blocks to explore. Blocks are great for developing the following: problem solving, imagination, self expression, mathematics, creativity, science, self –esteem, social and emotional growth.

We had a very busy day!
In the morning we had music class, recess, lunch and the Christmas concert.
JKs did a fantastic job! I hope to see everyone in the evening performance. :)

Dear SJA Families,



We are very excited for our annual Junior Kindergarten to Grade 2 Christmas Concert. Please see the attached poster for more details.



On December 10, 2019, students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 2 will put on two performances at the St. Jude’s Dome. Our afternoon performance will begin at 1:00 pm, with doors opening at 12:30. Our evening performance will begin at 6:30 pm, with doors opening at 6:15 pm. Seating is on a first come first serve basis.  Please keep in mind that outside food and drinks are not permitted in the Dome.



Please ensure students are in their classroom at 5:30 pm for the evening performance. 



For our evening performance, families are welcome to take our shuttle from St. Jude’s to the Dome and back. Shuttles will begin running from 6:00-7:00 pm.



We encourage all families to come bundled up to stay warm and cozy for the entire show. The students and teachers have put a tremendous amount of work into their performances and kindly ask that all families stay and enjoy the show until the end.

We had another full day with rehearsals. In the morning we headed to the dome and I must say that the JKs did a fantastic job on stage!
Then we came back to school, had lunch and some time to work on Christmas activities involving math and language. In math JKs practiced their numeracy skills by counting the ornaments and writing the correct number beside. For Language, we practiced tracing letters A-Z.
In the afternoon we went to the dome again, practiced on stage and headed back to school. JKs then had centers time.

Christmas Activity - we reviewed the Gingerbread Man story and completed an activity which involved cutting and pasting the pictures in correct sequence. 

Next, JKs decorated their gingerbread man using colorful tissue paper.
